Programming Talk #3: Asian Student Short Film Exhibition Open Submission


ASSFE Form is finally out, to all Asian student Filmmakers now the opportunity is opened for you. You can join the discussion of Asian Student Short Film Exhibition by registering the ASSFE Form and submitting your short film to be screened on our program.


In this program, we also explore short films produced by students throughout Asia to be screened and discussed through video conference/ online meeting with the filmmakers. The event will also be aired on Dian Didaktika Film Festival YouTube Live in order to reach students and audiences from different regions and provide benefits through sharing and exchanging knowledge. This program is held as an indicator of the development of students' short films in Asia. Henceforward, we will try to upgrade the opportunity for Dian Didaktika Film Festival to be an Asian festival.


The purpose of holding the Asian Student Short Film Exhibition (ASSFE) is to seek opportunities for Asian student filmmakers to collaborate with fellow student filmmakers, expanding connections between Asian student filmmakers and fellow student filmmakers, sharing thoughts, experiences, and expanding knowledge about film from different perspectives and backgrounds as fellow Asian filmmakers students.


The Theme of ASSFE 2021 “The Chameleon Perspectives: The Spectrum of Cultures Through Film”

Activities in  Asian Student Short Film Exhibition (ASSFE) including:


1. Film screening, watching the participants’ of Asian Student Short Film Exhibition (ASSFE) short films together with other participants including the moderator and airing it on Dian Didaktika Film Festival YouTube channel.


2. Performance,  presenting Dian Didaktika's High School band performance with the essence of Indonesian traditional music and the storytelling of Indonesian folklore.


3. Discussion, Discussing participants' short films and sharing perceptions of film from different viewpoints and different backgrounds.
